Caliber Anesthesia is a service-oriented group of Board Certified, Fellowship trained, highly skilled anesthesiologists who specialize in the latest office-based techniques. We have a proven track record in providing anesthesia care to high-end OBS and Article 28 Centers in Manhattan and the surrounding metropolitan area. All of our providers must stay current with the continuous yearly requirements of MOCA recertification, in accordance with their board certification.

If possible, we will review charts the day before to maximize efficiency and room turnover on the procedure day. Easy Scheduling

For your convenience we offer easy online scheduling of our anesthesia services. Our team consists of over 18 Board Certified, Fellowship trained anesthesiologists. We have depth and redundancy. We always have at least two extra staff on-hand (floaters) to allow for unforeseen complications such as illness or emergency. Our efficient back office is able to schedule cases with short notice. Whenever possible, we make sure to schedule an anesthesiologist who is familiar with your surgeon, the procedure and your location.

Patient Safety

We assure the safe delivery of anesthesia by thoroughly preparing for the procedure. This entails a detailed pre-operative inspection of the room, equipment, supplies, medications, and a review of charts and records with the site personnel. All anesthetic apparatus is inspected, tested and ensured serviceable by the Anesthesia provider before induction. In particular, the anesthesia machine is inspected for performance consistent with anesthesia safety, protocols for equipment care and infection control are reviewed and any measures needed are taken with time to spare. Our staff will determine the monitoring techniques (invasive and non-invasive) to be employed during an anesthetic based on the patient’s medical status and the type and magnitude of the surgical procedure. We adhere to the “Standards of Basic Intra-operative Monitoring” endorsed by the American Society of Anesthesiologists. These standards are followed during all General Anesthetics, Regional Anesthetics and Monitored Anesthesia Care.

Credentialing your office

Having been present for multiple inspections at our surgery center locations, our team leaders and principals are extremely well prepared and well versed in responding to surveyor questions. Our organization is staffed to the extent that we are able to be on-site at a moment’s notice or on a regular basis – and physically present for unannounced surveys by state and accreditation surveyors. We do this by implementing a dedicated staffing approach to ensure regularity in schedule, familiarity with the location, and to provide consistency to the surgeons and practice management. Having a regular staff at each location also ensures that they are well informed of scheduled visits and are well prepared for unannounced surveys. We also have strong relationships with highly experienced and professional accreditation consultants, and are happy to make a referral.
