Caliber Anesthesia is a service-oriented group of highly skilled Board-certified and fellowship-trained anesthesiologists. We have been providing hospital standard anesthesia care to high-end out-patient practices in Manhattan since 2005.
The vision that guided the founding of this group was one of unifying like-minded and highly skilled anesthesiologists in order to bring the highest standard of anesthesia care to OBS and Article 28 surgery centers. Our team of Doctors is specifically recruited from hospital settings and premier programs. We foster an environment in which our team’s excellence and dedication are appreciated on every level. We do this by enfranchising them in the financial success of Caliber Anesthesia, as well as by having their individual expertise, preferences, and circumstances taken into consideration with scheduling and assignments.
From the beginning, our mission was to create a positive and stable environment that would foster not only the highest standards and commitment level from our team but also a very strong customer service orientation. This has proven critical to ensuring the success of the practices we cover and the safety of their patients. It is clear to us that surgeons and procedure-based practitioners make significant investments in their facilities and by doing the same we share in their vision and commit to mutual success.
We make significant capital investments in high-quality anesthesia machines, monitors, and carts which we provide as part of our service in order to bring our sites up to the highest standards. We have developed strong relationships with vendors and established online ordering protocols that facilitate the efficient replacement of supplies as they are utilized. We obtain optimal pricing which we pass along to our clients. Having a density of practices in close proximity enables us to easily distribute supplies to accommodate procedures as needed, even on very short notice.
By taking these steps we have been able to create a standardized environment that simulates a hospital setting. In this way, we establish an exceptional level of confidence and comfort for patients, surgeons, and our team of anesthesiologists. Our eighteen board-certified anesthesiologists, most of whom are fellowship-trained, have extensive experience with office and ASC-based procedures. They are extremely facile with general anesthesia, sedation, and ultrasound-guided nerve block placement. And most importantly, they are adept at putting patients and surgeons at ease.

Trained in regional and thoracic anesthesia at Weill Cornell Medical Center, Dr. Meredith Priced joined our group in 2014 following her tenure as a partner at Advanced Anesthesia and Pain.
Throughout these years, she showed her strong leadership skills by focusing on mentoring and serving as a role model for the new members of our team. Dr. Price’s hands-on approach is geared towards generating a professional and human connection with the anesthesiologists through positive interactions, caring for their needs, and making each team member feel valued and heard.
In 2019, Dr. Price was appointed as Chief-of-Staff of Caliber Anesthesia. As she would later state, this was not just another milestone in her professional career, but an exceptional opportunity to leave her mark on something greater than herself.
This vote of confidence allowed her to lead the way and implement what she considered her vision for our group: to increase and broaden their internal support systems. This would be achieved by creating open lines of communication meant to streamline the gathering and internal flow of information so that every member of our group could have a voice and be heard. This new structure proved to be an instant success. It enabled the needs of the individual anesthesiologists to be met, and allowed the expansion of Caliber Anesthesia’s unique physician-centric provider model to new surgical practices.
Relying on a supportive team of anesthesiologist leaders and office administrators, Dr. Price has ushered Caliber Anesthesia on its way to becoming New York City’s leader in ambulatory and office-based anesthesiology, with a pristine safety record, excellent comradery, and a talented staff that is highly satisfied with its work-life balance.
Caliber anesthesia has been thriving and expanding ever since, bringing this proven model to each new location. Every day, we strive to honor the practice’s primary goal, which is and will always be to provide the safest and most unrivaled anesthetic care to outpatient surgical facilities.
